Notice of School Cancellations, Delays, and Early Releases

At times when school is cancelled or delayed due to inclement weather or a power outage we will attempt to contact the television stations and radio stations listed below. We will also post on the websites below.

If you have any doubt about cancellations or delays please check more than one source.

Delay of School:   School bus runs may be delayed if it seems that additional time will allow road crews to clear and sand roads for safe transportation of children.

 

BrightArrow - Notification System
 
MDIRSS utilizes BrightArrow to provide school related emergency notification services, parental outreach, and student attendance communications. The system is programmed to call the primary phone number of parents for a variety of reasons that impact the safety and academic performance of your students. BrightArrow will be used to complement our emergency preparedness procedures and to inform parents of vital school information and events.

In order for BrightArrow to be effective, it is important that your contact information is current and accurate at all times. You can update your contact information through PowerSchool or you can contact the main office to have updates made. You can also make choices about how non-emergency messages/notifications are received (phone/email/text).

This system will not replace current modes of school communication. Principals and faculty are still accessible for in-person visits and we will still provide a variety of print and online communications to parents. Use of the BrightArrow system is intended to reinforce our commitment to enhance communications and extend connections with parents.
 

Parents and Guardians of MDIRSS - AOS #91 Students - Text Messaging Opt In/Out

 

Take advantage of our Text Messaging Notification Service to deliver text messages from MDIRSS Schools straight to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, and more. 

 

To participate in this free service* send a text message with the word “Yes” to our short code number, 87569 or 79041 (Type short code in the “To:” bar.).

 

You can opt out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with the word “Stop”. 

 

If you want to receive texts on multiple devices, each device number must complete the Opt-In process.
